CD REVIEW: Elektronika - "Night & Day - 2 Disc Set"
By Louis Lestat- 06/19/04 – 10:30 PM PST
Out of the dark corners Seattle, Washington the capital of the grunge music scene, new form of music raises combining Dark ambient with Electronica /techno. A new band simply called Elektronika is born.
This band creates a perfect album with dark electronica music that will make most Goths crawl of into realms that no man has ever been before. The songs on the album cause the listener to experience feelings and insight while listening to it. One such song called “Vampire,” lets your thoughts travel to places during the medieval times or the romantic period were love and evil combines into one hypnotic musical experience. Many of the songs also combine a Middle Eastern flavor with deep drum beats and high pitching screams that can cause you to have heart pulsating experience.
The main vocalist Jacob Anderson has perfectly captured the harmonizing vocal range of Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. Jacob captures such vocal range in songs like “Falling over you and Acceptance.” Dawn Wood's vocals and background vocals of Elektronika have a beautiful sweet pleasing voice that reminds the listener of such group as Raspintina and The Shourd.
For those who are into experience new forms gothic music, this 2-disc set is definitely worth your time and money.
